STEULER-KCH's expertise with plastics makes us the partner of choice for the sulphuric acid industry. We develop, manufacture and install piping systems made from glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP), both with and without a thermoplastic lining. Our components are used wherever highly corrosive media must be handled, such as for transport in processing and storage facilities. Whilst conventional materials fail here, due to insufficient resistance, STEULER-KCH pipes are up to the job.
We use the following thermoplastics as liner materials:
- Polyethylene (PE)
- Polypropylene (PP)
- Unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U)
- Post-chlorinated PVC (PVC-C)
- Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)
- Ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene (ECTFE)
- Fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP)
- Perfluoroalkoxy alkanes (PFA)
- Modified polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE-M).
The name of our dual-laminate system is KERAVERIN®. These pipes comply with the applicable DIN standard 16965 part 2/ pipe type B. The operating temperature range is between -50 °C and approximately 200 °C, depending on the composite material used.
Our standard portfolio comprises products with nominal diameters from DN 25 to DN 1000, with grading of the standard nominal pressure varying, depending on the nominal diameter, and starting at PN 16. We're well equipped for handling large nominal diameters too. We can fabricate items up to 5.5 m in diameter.
Naturally, we can also supply electrically conductive material systems suitable for use in areas subject to explosion hazards. Our pipes can be fabricated to be compliant with pressure equipment directives. We are also certified according to module H/H1.
STEULER-KCH's experienced specialists are there to provide you with expert assistance, from the initial consultation through to final assembly – in Germany and around the world. Our particular strength lies in consultancy: we work together with our customers to select the combination of materials (liner, fibre reinforcement, resin matrix, etc.) best suited for the chemical, mechanical and thermal stresses to which the pipe will be subjected. We develop custom combinations of materials in close consultation with our customers from the sulphuric acid industry.
Our range of services includes a plausibility check regarding design and materials, and project support to ensure smooth and timely implementation, even for complex projects. We're flexible: alteration and customisation of the supplied pipes is possible at any time – even following delivery. Our after-sales service gives our customers the opportunity to provide feedback and share their experiences of completed projects, to learn about current product developments and if desired, to have the installed products inspected and evaluated.
